Overview

The 2019 Gator Invitational is an elite, limited-field junior boys golf event hosted by the Country Club of Jackson.

This 36-hole event presents an opportunity for the best junior players across the Southeast to compete. The event will include a practice round, 2 tournament rounds, a players banquet, meals, tee gifts and awards.

February 23-24, 2019

Eligibility

The Gator is open to male participants who are 19 years old or younger and have not yet graduated from high school as of the tournament final round date.

Format

The Gator is a 36-Hole Championship competed over two days. There is only one division and the event is a Boys Championship.

Invitations

The Gator is an elite Junior Golf Championship that has historically attracted players from across the country and globe. There are certain exemptions into the event that can be found by clicking here, and the remainder of the invitations will be sent out by the Tournament Committee beginning in November. If you would like to be considered for an invitation, please complete our online application by clicking here.

Entry Fee & Final Registration

Upon receiving an official invitation, you will confirm your spot in our field by going to our website and paying the $275 entry fee. If the fee is not paid by the deadline of January 15, 2018, then your spot will no longer be guaranteed.

Check-In

All participants will be required to check in on Friday, February 22, 2019, at the registration table near the pro shop. Registration will be from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. Anyone whose travel arrangements don’t allow for this need to make alternative arrangements with the Tournament Committee.

Practice Round

The official Practice Round will be on Friday, February 22, 2019.  Tee times can be made by calling the pro shop at 601-956-1415. There will be no additional practice rounds available.

Spectator Carts

Spectator carts will be available by reservation in advance only. Once you have been invited and officially registered into the field, you will receive an email with instructions on how to make your cart reservation. Players will be permitted to rent carts for use during their practice round, if they so desire.

Accommodations

There will be room blocks available at local hotels for this event. This information will be made available in November 2018.

Food & Beverage

Included in your entry fee, all players will receive breakfast and lunch on each day of competition and there will also be separate players and parents functions on Friday evening. Also, drinks and snacks will be available TO PLAYERS on the course during competition. Parents are welcome to purchase additional food and beverages through The Turn House or The Magnolia Grill. We will be able to facilitate cash, credit card or club reciprocation charges (preferred).

Locker & Shoe Service

Players will be given a personal locker in our Men’s locker room. Each player will have a locker with their name on it. Additionally, all players are able to take advantage of Frank “Nitty” Ward’s world-famous shoe cleaning services following completion of play Friday-Sunday.

Schedule of Events

The Gator will include a practice round on Friday, February 22, 2019. The first round will be played on Saturday, February 23, 2019 and the second round will be played on Sunday, February 24, 2019. Additional details regarding our schedule will be posted closer to our tournament date.
